Early life and education

Ginsburg was born in Brooklyn, New York City, on June 10, 1932, to Evelyn (née Bayer) and Morris Ginsburg, a department store executive.^[4] He grew up in Rockville Centre on Long Island,^[5] where he attended South Side High School.

His family was Jewish.^[6]
